The Council of Contributors

For five consecutive years the number of rhinos poached in South Africa alone has exceeded 1,000. Relentless and indiscriminate poaching means we will soon reach the tipping point – when overall rhino deaths outpace the birthrate. This iconic species is slipping through our fingers, possibly forever. We are here to take action while we still can. There is no time to waste.

The Council of Contributors is dedicated to supporting “boots on the ground” and “eyes in the sky” organizations who stand in the ring, day after day, with the single-minded goal of protecting and saving rhinos. Nobody can tackle this issue alone, but when we pull together and harness the power of the collective — big things can happen.

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund

The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund is the largest and longest-running organization fully dedicated to gorilla conservation. No one knows gorillas like they do. Every day, they protect gorilla families, study how they live, and teach future scientists and local communities to do the same. Gorillas remain on the brink of extinction and without all our continued efforts, their future is anything but secure, and neither is ours.

There are many ways for you to help and we can’t do it without you. 80% of the work they do every day is made possible by your individual support and contributions.

The Elephants and Bees Project

The Elephants and Bees Project is an innovative study by Save the Elephants using an in-depth understanding of elephant behavior to reduce damage from crop-raiding elephants using their instinctive avoidance of African honey bees.

The project explores the use of novel Beehive Fences as a natural elephant deterrent creating a social and economic boost to poverty-stricken rural communities through the sustainable harvesting of “Elephant-Friendly Honey”.
